business every where, were in town
last Monday on professional busi
ness in the City court.
Miss Eva Brinson, of Waycross,

Mr. Z. W. Kirkland, who has
been living near Bingham post
office in this county, has bought
property in Douglas and intends
to make this his home in the future,
one of his objects being to educate
his children.
Our old friend, W. M. Gaskin,

Our old friend, H. C. Girtman,
who lives near Ilazlehurst, was in
town Monday, *and we were glad
to see him, because when he was
in town at las. term of court he
was at the Breeze office, and while
there discovered that; he had lost
ten dollars. Afterward he found
the money in his watch-pocket,
which proved that we didn’t get
it—although we stuck to the one
dollar bill he paid for the Breeze.
The Mayor and City Council are
going to have a damage suit on
their hands the first thing they
know, and they will be to blame,
too. There is an ordinance against
fast driving of horses on the streets,
still, it is rarely that a day passes
when some person, does not,
riding or driving, pass over the
street at an unlawful speed. Five
years ago this -would make no
difference, for there was no one on
the streets, but it is dangerous now.

We Stake Our Claim
of flour excellence upon the flour
itself—it’s the very best kind or
evidence.
We know that if you will just
try our flour once for yourself, you
will never want to go back to the
inferior kinds. It will prove every
thing we claim for it.
Be sure you get “Clifton” flour,
if you want the best.

Married Last Sunday.
Duncan Smith, a clever young
man of this city, surprised his
friends last Sunday by going out
into the country and marrying
Miss Mariah Metts, a handsome
young lady and daughter of Mr.
Aaron AJetts, of this county.
They r are domicided at the resi
dence of Mr. O. L. Mobley, where
some of their friends serenaded
them last Monday night, with
beautiful music and songs. Mr.
and Airs. Smith have our best
wishes for their future happiness.
Only Results Tell-
There is little or no difference in
the appearance of flour, but there
is all the difference in the world in
results.
“Clifton” flour will produce
light, white, wholesome bread—
you know from sad experience just
what other kinds will do.
For more bread and better bread,
use our “Clifton” every time.

Purses’ Land Sales-
There can be no reason now why
you should not get a home or hotel
in Douglas, if you want one: Capt.
Purse is now offering for sale the
Buck hotel, a large roomy edifice
with fifteen rooms, and a number of
nice building lots, well located, in
the eastern part of the town. These
lots are selling cheap now, but with
in twelve months will be worth
double what they will cost you to
day. Look up the advertisements,
two of them, in this paper, and then
look up the property".
Success Assured-
The success of the Semi Weekly
Breeze is already assured. Every
body we have seen in the county,
where they can get to the post office,
are anxious to have the paper twice
a week. We believe our subscrip
tion list will reach more than 2000
copies before July, at the rate it is
going, and the pretty thing about
the growth is the willingness of
every man to take hold and spread
the Breeze to those who are not
now enjoying its healthful and en
lightening visits.
Married Last Tuesday-
Air. D. D. Paulk, abig mail with
a big heart, and Aliss Fannie Lott,
one of the handsomest young ladies
of the county, were married at the
Baptist parsonage, in this city,
Bro. Oxford officiating, last Tues
day morning, at 11 o’clok, and
went over at once to the residence
of Air. James Dent.
We all know Aliss Fannie, the
petite daughter of Mr. Elias Lott,
one of our best citizens, and every
body knows Dan Paulk, clever old
Dan, the little son of Hon. Tom
Paulk, and we all wish the happy
pair a life of happiness and pros
perity, on the promise not to be
guilty of such conduct again soon.
Moved to Their New Home.
Messrs. Flowers & Whilden have
moved their stock of Buggies, Or
gans, Sewing Machines into their
new home in the Sweat & Vickers
building, second door east of Union
Bank. These well known and
popular dealers have a nice stock of
goods in their line and may be relied
on to keep an up-to-date stock. In
order to carry on business success
fully they employ J. AI. Swindle,
book-keeper, and Messrs A. R., A.
F., and 11. G. Bedingfeld—three of
the same name, 11. F. Whilden and
W. D. Stephens as salesmen. In
I fact, the firm does a good business
and these young men are required to
help carry it on. Go and see them.
The Peoples' Pharmacy-
In keeping with the rapid growth
of this town and county the pro
prietors of the Peoples’ Pharmacy

drug house with ail the latest equip
ments were desirable, and have
| spared neither time or money in
