sponse tonumerous petitions and personal
appeals from the voters and citizens of the
county i hereby announce myself as a can
didate for representative from this county
subject to the action of the white primary
election to beheld next September. As to
local affairs I am in favor of the election
by the people of this county of the Judge,
Solicitor and Clerk of the City Court of
Douglas, and also of tiie County Commis
sioners, anil if elected I will use my utmost
endeavor to enact such legislation as will
give to the people of the county the right
to thus select these officers. lam also in
favor ot the enactment of such general
law s as will require and secure the services
as jurors of all such upright aryl intelli
gent citizens as are contemplated by the
present law.
I am a native of the county and you all
know me and ! leave it to you to say
whether or not I will if elected do what f

support in the approaching election.

nal promoter of the movement to elect the
above Cpunty officers, by the people, as
can he substantiated, and I stand on my
own platform. The people know me. have
tried me, and I shall endeavor to serve
them faithfully if they want my services
again, and I shall thank them for their
support.
