counties report the prospect of an 1
unusually large peach crop this
years: The late varieties are now
in full bloom, and the early trees
will bloom in a few days. The
trees are health}- and in good con
dition, and the prospect was never
better in this section for a full
crop. . ;
Application for Charter.
STATE (.IF GEORGIA—Coffee County.
To The Honorable Philip Cook, Secretary
of State for the State of Georgia: The pe
tition ofyhe-undersigned, whose names and
residences are hereinafter fully set forth,
respectfully shows.
First, That they desire to be incorpora
ted under the laws of the State of Georgia,
as provided in the Acts of 1892 and the
Acts of 1895 amendatory thereof, pages 60
and 61.
Second, That they desire for themselves,
their successors and their associates to he
incorporated under the name and style of
the OCILLA PINEBLOOM&VAIDoSTA
RAILWAY.
Third, The railway contemplated in this
petition for charter is to be about forty
miles long, beginning at the center of the
St. Ilia River, at the present south termi
nus of the Wadley and Mt. Vernon Exten
sion Ry. Company’s line of road, in Cof
fee County and'State of Georgia, and run
ning in a southwesterly direction through
the towns of Willaeoochee and Pinebloom
in Coffee County, and through the town of
Nashville in Berrien County, Georgia, to
the town of Adel in said Berrien County.
Fourth, The capital stock of said Rail
way shall be Two Hundred Thousand Dol
lars, with the privilege of increasing said
capital stock to the sum of Three Hundred
Thousand Dollars, all of said capital stock
to consist in common stock.
Fifth, They desire the charter of said
Railway Co.’to continue for and during
the period o: one hundred and one years
as is allowed by law.
Sixth, The principal office of said Rail
way shall be in the town of Pinebloom,
Georgia.
Seventh, Your petitioners declare that
| they do intend in good faith to go forward
without delay to secure subsciiptions to
i the capital stock and to construct, equip,
maintain and operate said railway.
Eighth, Your petitioners further show
that they have given Four (4) weeks notice
of their intention to apply for a charter by
the publication of this petition in the
newspapers in which the Sheriff’s adver
tisements are published, In each of the
Counties through which said Railway shall
run, once a week for four weeks before the
tiling of this petition.
Wherefore, Your petitioners pray that
they may be incorporated under the pro
visions of the laws and Constitution of the
state of Georgia, with all the powers and
i privileges incident to such corporations,
under and by virtue of the laws and said
eonstitution’of said state.

George L. Markey, F. L. Sweat, E. L. Tan
ner, C. M. Porter, Augustus M. Wilcox
and W. I. Christian, all of said State and
County, respectfully shows:
Ist. Thai they desire for themselves,
their associates, successors and assigns,
to become incorporated under the name
and style of The Markey Trading Com
pany.
2nd. The term for which petitioners ask
to lie incorporated is twenty years, with
the privilege of renewal at the end of that
time.
3rd. The capital stock of the corpora
tion is to be Ten Thousand ($lo,ooo.oo)
Dollars, divided into shares of one hun

however, ask the privilege of increasing

ticles and things as may be profitably
handled and sold in connection therewith;
acting as general or special agents for oth
er personsor companies in selling or hand
ling any articles or class of articles appro
priate to the general mercantile bnsiness,
or usually or conveniently connected there
with, and to make contracts to act as
such agent, and to exercise the usual pow
ers and to do all usual, necessary and
proper acts which pertain to or may be
connected with the business of wholesale
and retail dealers in the articles named,
including the business of dress making.
6th. Toe principal office and place of
business of said corporation shall he in the
city of Douglas, and State of Georgia.
