Police circles in Douglas are quiet.

BRIEFS FROM PEARSON.
The Christmas tree was the most
attractive feature of the week. It
was loaded down with presents and
the exercises were especially inferest
ing. Mr. Juo. Greer’s address was
forceful and well delivered, and his
original poem on Christmas at the
close of his speech was beautiful, and
was faultlessly read.
Mr. Jeff Kirkland was quite ill for
two days but is out again attending
to business.
Eula Kirkland, and Lovic Greer
have been spending the Christmas at
Blacksliear.
Mrs. Blowe is spending a few days
with her paren's.
Prof. Duvall and Earl Prince, as
Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus, made more
fun than a barrel of monkeys.
The seliool will open on the 6th of
January. A large attendance is ex
pected for the year 1896
Mr. Tim Kiikland and family will
move to Pearson early in January.
The people will gladly welcome them.
Mr. Joe Greer made a flying visit t 0
Blacksliear this week.
Mr. A. P. Hucks and Mr. Junius
Prince furnished the candy and nuts
for the Chrisinas tree. They are al
ways doing something nice.

For reasons we are not responsible
for a great many people in the past
few months have discontinued their
subscription to the Breeze. We hope
that all such will now renew their re
lation with the old standard paper of
the county and let us put it in every
household in Coffee county.
Dr. Terrell or. Sunday night re
turned .'rom a visit to his relatives
in Montgomery county, ul s sister
in-law, Miss Mattie Clements, a
young lady of s >ecial attraction,
accompanied im. She will spend
most of the winter in Douglas.
Messrs. Parker & Fielding have es
tablished their business in the store
recently occupied by Hall Bro3. They
are prepared to do work for their cus
tomer in gqed ‘hape.
Misses. Kate and Lila Kirkland, two
charming young ladies of Kirkland,
Ga.. are visitng at the Petersm
House.
The Brunswick Call reaches our
sanctum now the same day it is pub
lished. The New Yerr's issue was
ej-ecially bright and newsy. Brother
Leavy is a mover when he tries.
All money due the Breeze for
hack subscription and other accounts
must be paid to the new manage
ment. We shall be graciously obliged
to you for any and all such to help on
the cause of a good paper in the
county.
If anybody doubts the patriotism
of the American people let them read
the almost unanimous sentiment, sus
taining President Cleveland in his
Venezuelan message to Congress.
Mr. B. Peterson returned Tuesday
from Atlanta where he had been to
buy stock. He brought back twenty
three head of mules and horses, and
his mules are as fine as we eversaw.
They are on sale tier® and at Shep
herd.
Jodge F. Willis Dart has been
spending the Christmas at Brunswick
with his relatives. He return id Tues
day and the beam on his face was in
dicative of a rousing good time.
The body of Harry Hayward, the
murderer of Catherine Ging, was on
the Dec. 27 sent from Mineapobs
to Chicargo ‘‘or cremation. From
thence it will likely be forwarded
to Hades where Pluts will receive it
in grand- eclat and enter it upon its
final experience with the flames His
