Girtman of Bingham, this county, paid the Breeze office visit this week and left a dollar for the Breeze one year. Mr. Jule Pickreti. who has been confined in jail at this place, charged with accessory to the killing of G. $. McDonald, was released from jail on a $5,000 bend on last Wednesday, The following persons signed his bond : E-. L. Pickren, Wm. Vickers, Dr. W. E. Sibbett and Elias Lott. Mr. Pickren is a native of Coffee county, and is by no means without friends, lie could have given a much larger bond if it had been required of him. Last Tuesday the still and one hun. dred barrels of rosin and thirteen bar rels of spirits belonging to J. G. Pace was destroyed by fire. The origin of the fire was caused by turning off a charge of rosin wh iu 100 hot. It has not been learned whether or not there was any insurance. The stil: was sit uated about two miles from Shepherd, and was a very tine , one, being the one that was sent to the World’s Fair at Chicago for excellence, Mr. D. A. Morris of Baxley lias ren ted <he store of M r B, Peterson, now occupied by Mr. Gordon and at an early date will put iu a stock of gen eral merchandise. We understand that Mr. Morris also bought a lot of laftd near the same store and will erect a store of his own. Mr. C. C. Pearson, of Granite moun tain, Texas, was in our office this week. Mr. Pearson is a prominent rail oad man of chat place, and has been visiting Georgia since Christinas. He subscribed for the Breeze and and promised to let us hear from him when lie got back to Texas. Mr. A. Rieketsoiv, a native cf this-, county, but who has been living in Kingsland, Texas, for twenty-seven years, has been visiting liis relatives here for the past two weeks Ho therc are manv changes since he lived litre and he notes the improvements everywhere.
