VOL. VC LOCAL NEWS Mr. John L. Tyson called on ' the Breeze Monday. A gracious rain fall in Douglas and vicinity Monday. Messrs. Holland & Tatum attended the horse sale Monday. Mr, T. B. Marshall, the clever .vine yard man, was in town Tuesday. The Waycross Steam Laundry pays the express both ways on work sent tuem. Rufe Perkins of Broxton spent Monday in Douglas buying him a horse. The Breeze job work is the best that can be had and we duplicate Savannah prices. Ware will be satisfied with either of the two senatorial candidates from Coffee. —Waycross Journal. John Cox and Munroe Mayer two of Brunswick’s most popular drum mers were in town Tuesday. Mr. D. S. Goodyear of Wilsonville spent Wednesday in town. He says rains haye fallen in his section. Wilson is located at Jew els, in Hancock county, where he is associated with Dr. George Iltriot in the practice of medicine. They are both Coffee county boys.—Tifton Ga zette, ■ - Abraham Farmer is dead. He pass ed away at bis home in Willacoochce last Thursday. He was au old color ed citizen of Coffee county and was respected wherever he was known. He was upright and true before God and man and a model for his race to follow. & . Minchew who is attending school at Cochran wrote us a nice letter this week, but for want of space we were unable to publish it. in writing of that good town, John says “We can’t do jus tice to Cochran when we say that it has the best school and the best people of any little town in South Georgia, an I our lot has never been cast among a lovelier people.” The reason that John loves the Cochran people so is because the Cochran peo ple no doubt love John, lie is a wor thy boy and we grant that he h in a worthy town. Our Coffee county boys all stand high wherever they go. Prince at Pearson is making a run on shoes and you can get a pair cheaper than any where else in the county Mr. H. Gigniliat a citizen of Glynn county was in Douglas Tuesday and Wednesday prospecting for a home, lie is much pleased with Douglas and it is very likely that he will locate in our midst, lie bought some proper ty while here and will return in a few weeks with his family to spend a longer season. If his wife is pleased with the loodity lie will make further inves'metrts and build him a home We have known Mr. Gigniliat for some years and there is no worthier gentleman among our acquaintances. We shall delight to welcome him as a citizen. The beautiful little Methodist cluirch which lias just been com pleted and which stands as a glowing tribute to the earnest devotion of the inhabitants of McDonald was appro priately dedicated. Rev. Mr. Waller, the evangelist, preached the dedicato ry sermon and his discourse was wor thy of the occasion. In tlio erection of the church, much is due to the untiring efforts of Supt. Walter Lott whose devotion to the enterprise is worthy of his consecrat ed life. Nevertheless, the peopde of McDonald have manifested hardly less enthusiasm in its erection, and and groat credit is due a place of its size for so handsome an edifice. Denton.
