March Term Coffee Superior Court 1808. VVe, tlie grand jury selected, chosen and sworn for the March term of Cof fee Superior court, 1898, hog leave to submit the following general present ments, to-wit: ITIiUC BUU.PIKUS. We have examined the county jail in a body and find the Same in a filthy and uuiiealthy re ndition, and we rec ommene that the Sheriff look diligent ly to the keeping of said jail in a much cleaner condition. We also recom mend that B B. Gray be appointed as a committee of one to draw plans for t,he repairs of said jail and that he sub unit the same to the County Commis sioners and the said repairs be made at once, or as soon after receiving said plans as possible. We find the court house in need of some repairs and rec ommend that all broben lights be re placed with r.ew ones, and where the blmds to said windows are oil or brok en that- they be replaced at once, we also find some of ti e door locks brok en or unfit for use and v.c recommend, that they be replaced with tew ones we also find some of the brick work undcrncailj. the courthouse in need of repairs and recommend that the same ‘be done at once. We also recommend that there be good ant! sullicient num ber of lamps be placed in (lie court Conn: for the convonienfe uf nigh sessions of court. We'hlsc find piles of trash both in front and around the court house’mid recommend that this be re.rfl.oved at once .-end in the future kept clean. The grand jury mom should be re ceiled over old ceiling on the east and south fide in order to make it more secure. TUB PAUPER FARM. VVe have .visited the poor house and farm and.find the same !>ept in a neat and healthy condition-we find about 90 bush'ds of corn, 000 pounds of ba con, 40 Bushels of, sweet potatoes and 10 bushels of peas and about 35 bead of hogs; also care mule and wagon, besides house furnishing goods and cooking utensils. VVe find that there is about T 9 bushels of c.orif, 25 bushels 'of sweet potatoes, 5 bushels of peas more than is needed at said farm, and we would recommend that the County Commissioners sell the sain# for the best possible price and the proceeds therefrom be turned over tt the Coun ty Treasurer. We also recommend ihnt the County Commissioners fur nish dressed ceiling to ceil the poor house and have the Bupeiintendant do the work by the Fall term of the Superior court.
