Parsnip Complexion.
It does not require on expert to de
tect the sufferer from kidney trouble.
The hollow cheeks, the sunken eyes,
the dark, pufff circles under the eyes,
the sallow parsnip-colored complexion
indicates it.
A physicion would ask if you had
rheumatism, a dull pain or ache in the
cli trouble,

it; if after i fasping
there Allied - feeling as if it
must at once repeated, or if the urine
-has a brick dust deposit or strong odor.
When t* ese symptoms are present,
no time should be lost in removing the
canse.
Delay may lead to gravel, catarrh of
the bladder, incarnation, causing stop
page, and sometimes requiring the
drawing of the urine with instruments,
or may run into Bright’s Disease, the
most dangerous stage of kidney trouble.
Dr. Kilmer’s Swam Root, the great
discovery of the eminent kidney and
bladder specialist, is a positive remedy
for such disease. Its reputation is
world-wide and it is so easy to get at
my drug store that no one need suffer
any length of time for want of it.
However, if you prefer to first test
its wonderful merits, mention The

OBITUARY.
THE DEATH OF A NOBLE CHRISTIAN
GENTLEMAN.
Col. Theodore Septimus Ileriot de
parted this life in his 77t1) year, at
Pearson, Coffee county, Ga., Oct. 22d,
1898, and his remains were interred by
the side of his wife, in the Antioch
church cemetery, four miles North of
Leliaton, the next day.
He was born of English parents
March 17th, 1822, in Georgetown, S.
C., but was reared in the city Charles
ton. He received a liberal education,
especially in civil engineering, that
being the trend of his mind.
Col. Heriot had a penchant for trav
el and frequent change of place, and,
ou leaving school, spent several years
in the West and along the Mississippi
river, visiting Bt. Louis, Memphis and
New Orleans, returning to Charleston
by way of Mobile and Pensacola.
Arriving at home lie attached him
self to the Engineer corps engaged in
making the preliminary survey of the
Atlantic and Gulf railroad (now the
bavannah, Florida and and
remained in the employ of the road
until its competiou to Thoiuasville in
1860.
It was during this service that lie
met and married his wife, Miss Geor
gia Ann, eldest daughter of David Al
len, Esq., near Walthourville, in Liber
ty county. They were married in
1859. Several children came to bless
the union, of whom three sous—Clar
ence, George and Benjamin—survive
him, and are “worthy sons of a noble
sire.”
Col Heriot was also a member of the
Engineer corps who surveyed and
Completed the Macon and Brunswick
railroad, (now a branch of the South
ern). He also served through the
civil war as a member ef aji engineer
corps in the construction of Confeder
ate fortifications.
Upon the completion of the Bruns
wick and Albany (now tho Brunswick
and Western) railroad he moved with
his family to Pearson and engaged in
tho varied occupations of school teach
cr, surveyor, justice of the peace aud
lawyer, resorting to those means for a
livelihood because of feeble health and
the impoverished condition in which
he was left by the result of the war. In
these labors the true, noble character
of the man, as a friend to those in dis
tress aud needing assistance, were
brought out in bold example before
his associates and neighbors. None
were turned aside without assistance
and a word cf cheer. Many a raging,
belligerent heart—ready to deal ven
geance aud do mischief—have been
calmed and softened by his intelligent
foresight aud wise counsel.
Col. Heriot joined the Missionary
Baptist church in young manhood and
for more than fifty years illustrated in
a high degree tho truth and reality of
the Christian religion. He was a dea
con of the Leliaton Baptist church at
time of his death, and was truly a
beacon light in this destitute section
for many years, when churches and
church privileges were almost un
known. lle was always in the front
rank in the promotion of churches aud
Sunday Schools, using all his talents
to accept salvation in Jesus Christ.
He was permitted in the providence
of God to see the generations “rise up
to call him blessed.” lie lived a life
of spotless integrity, and the name of
his friends in this section is legion.
Ofliimitcan be truly said: “A good
man has fallen,” but his works abide
with us.
