Miss Minnie Smith, the accom
plished teacher at Rocky Pond
j school, came in to see us this week,
ordered the Breeze to he sent her
at Morvan, Brooks county, alter
her school closes and invited the
the editorial force to be present at
the closing exercises and picnic on
the 17th instant.
Miss Agnes, our associate, wasn’t
in the wreck last Wednesday. She
was on the passenger train, coming
from Waycross, and the wrecked
train was the freight going to Way
cross. She was on the train all
day hut fared sumptuously, some
kind drummer having supplied her
with a pint of pea-nuts and a bot
tle of soda.
A Hood Woman Hone.
The wife of Rev. Jno. A, Thomp
son, who lives near Bickley, died
last Sunday night, after a painful
illness caused by the lodgement of
a fish-bone in her throat. She was
about fifty years of age.

The Breeze has been notified
that it will be expected to attend a
Sunday School celebration at New
Hope church OB Saturday before
the 4th Sunday in August. If we

Wreck on the Air-Line.
The freight train going from
Douglas to Waycross last Wednes
day morning had three or four Car?
wrecked at pie 33rd fnjje-ppaf, sup
posed to have been caused from
spreading of the rails. The track
was badly torn up, cars completely
smashed, and three or four parties
hurt slightlyi CqnduHflr Hediok
and John Taylor, a train hand,
considerably bruised. The efficient
Superintendant with a big force of
hands built a track around the
wreck and trains were soon moving
mi time,
School at Willacoochee.
Prof. H. McMillan, late of Ocilla
High School, and Prof. Jon. R.
Overman, late of Douglas High
School will open the High School
at Willacoochee on August 28th.
We don't know of two better im.it
in the State for teachers than these,
and the people over at Willacoo
chee must congratulate themselves
on their good fortune. Prof. Mc-
Millan comes well recommended as

setting this week. As soon as she

Mr. Jesse Lott, of Broxton, who
has been under treatment of the
physicians at the Plant System
Hospital, at Waycross, returned to
his home Thursday.
Prof. Mewbern and his lady are
in attendance on the teachers’ in
stitute this week. The Professor
is head in the primary class, and
we are glad to hear of his rapid
advancement.
Editor Sweat, of the Waycross
Journal, went out to Gaskin’s
Spring Thursday morning to make
arrangements to bring his family
up here for a short while. He can
find no better place for them.
