the commission of another crime

Resolutions.
We. the committee on resolutions
upon the death of our brother
Knight, George W. Bennett, sub
mit the following:
Another impress of the fact of
death has come amongst us in the
untimely taking away of our broth
er. Young in years, congenial in
person, honest, persevering, indus
trious—attributes which were the
matured fruition of his early train
ing, just as prosperity was respond
ing to his life work. A loyal
Knight, imbued with the virtues of
our Order, we shall miss, him ; we
shall remember him by his worthy
deeds.
“Needs then the praise of the
love written reared
The name and the epituh graved
on the stone?
The things we have lived for. let
them be our story ;
We ourselves but remembered by
what we have done.”
Resolved, That in the death of
Brother George W. Bennett,
Wakefield Lodge, Number 27,
Knights of Pythias, is deprived of a
valuable member and loyal Knight.
We deplore his untimely death.
We trust when our brother came
to the river that marks the untime
ly shore, guided by the Supreme
Ruler of the Universe, he crossed
over, and into the Celestial City.
Second, We extend our sympa
thy to the widow and children of
our deceased brother, in this hour
of their bereavement.
Third, That a page in the min
utes of the Lodge be set apart, and
these resolutions engrossed thereon
as a memorial to our deceased
brother, and that a copy of these
resolutions be sent to the widow
of our deceased brother.
Fraternally submitted,

It would take a genuine prophet
to tell any thing about the political
future from the present standpoint,
and a survey of the field only gives
the observer a casual glance of the
rapid movements of the republi

lowa and other doubtful states in
the northwest, I)own in Kentucky
Bryan, the free silver democrat is
cutting the dirt from under the feet
of republicanism, and where he
was warned not to come three
weeks ago is making friends by
the thousands. Republicans and
Populists are joining his list of
friends, and McKinleyism is on
the wane. State Senators and lo
cal politicol aspirants are turn
ing with the tide, and it he does
not carry the State he will at least
take from the republicans the ac
customed majority. Hanna and
McKinley have left Washington
City, and with the entire republi
can cabinet are traveling over the
States named in royal style, in
vestibules furnished by the railroad
monopolists, making speeches and
by their presence endeavoring to
whip into line the republicans that
threaten disruption and who are
brave enough to condemn the war
policy of McKinley. The pap
suckers of the adminjptrfftjojl, who
are republicans, democrats or pop

around in dread and dismay, lest
the day of retribution comes, when
they will be “scattered like autumn
