Notice to Candidates.
The Breeze office is the only
printing office in the County, and
the candidates on both sides are
having tickets printed in this office.
What you order printed is your
business and no other person’s, and
what another man orders is none of
your business. The place to attend
to business is in the little front
room, not in the press room, and if
you go in there you will be obtrud
ing. We don’t want any man
fumbling over your work, and you
have no right, makes no difference
who you are, to be prying around
the other man’s work. Please re
member this, because we don’t want
any hard-feelings, and if we don’t
say anything, through respect for
your feelings, which we have for
everybody, we shall think sonie
hard things about fools, meddlers
and people prying where they are
not wanted.

Won't be Decided Until Saturday 29-
j Now, we are in a dilemma, a fid
the people are in suspense, and it’s
all on account of that Debating
i Club at the Southern Normal In
stitute in this place. They have
1 before them the momentous ques
tion for debate and decisievi, “Shall
we retain the Philippine Islands?”
and have put off the settlement of
this vexing, perplexing question
until Saturday afternoon, 29 inst.
|We have read Mr. McKinley’s
I opinions, and was almost persuad
ed, and then Mr. Bryan sent his
I opinion to us by express, and we
j decided that he was right certain,
! and went to sleep comfortable and
happy in the thought that the ques
tion had been settled. We didn’t
notice what Roosevelt said about
it for we knew lie says he was the
only man that was in the Cuban
war who killed a Spaniard, and we
didn’t give him any credit. And
then, here, the question is up for
settlement before this debating so
ciety, and we can’t tell whether
we have a right to go over and
pick us out a residential corner lot
in Manilla until we know how the
cat will jump. Who is responsi
ble for this delay we are not in
formed, but the world must stand
with bated breath and listening
ears until our boys decide “Shall
we retain the Philippine Islands?”
The negative and affirmative sides
are strong, and those who ha\V
some spare time can hear something
interesting at the Institute on 29th.
Death of Victor V- Comas-
Mr. Comas, who lias been sick
with typhoid fever for some time,
died at his residence in this place
las* Wednesday morning about
3 o'clock. As we have said lie has
been ill for some time, and last
Sunday was reported to us as being
on the mend, and even on Monday
we were told tlie same. Tuesday,
however, he grew worse, and sank
rapidly, in spite of medical aid and
tender nursing, and died Wednes
day morning as stated. Mr. Comas
was between 25 and 30 years of age,
and was generally esteemed. He
leaves a wife and many friends and
acquaintances to mourn his death.
His remains were interred at the
Douglas cemetery Thursday morn
ing bv the Knights of Phythias.
Bug Poison.
Bug poison and bug juice are two
different things, but they both act
something alike. Bug-juice is
sometimes applied to a man’s nose
until it becomes red and he is boozy
and cuts the fool. Bug-Poison, is
made by Oscar Rudolph and when
squirted on a bed-bug, roach-bug,
a snapping-bug, a midnight-hug.
or any member of the bug-family,
fly, flea, or grass-hopper makes him
stand 011 his head, roll his eyes
around like a dying calf, get boozy,
swears he’s the best bug on the
bed-rail, slat, leg or lock and rolls
over in the gutter drunk as a lord
and he goes dead, Rudolph and
Woodcock sells it at 50GS a quart
bottle. Saves scouring, scalding
and saves your bedsteads.

action.
The Baptist Church
The Weekly Prayer Meetings,

now pending, and if you hear the
hell ring except for regular services
before our next, you may know the
new preacher is in town, and your
presence at the church is desired.
Sudden Death of a Young Man.
Mr. Ben Girtman, a son of Mr.
Henry Girtman, near Hazlehurst,
went over to his uncle’s place, a few
miles off on Friday the 7th, and
without any warning or previous
syniptons, was taken violently ill,
and died on Saturday following.
He is said to have been a quiet, so
ber, industrious young man, and
his sudden death is deeply regretted.
