Editor Journal : On Monday even¬
ing last vve were called to the bedside
of our son Johinuc’3 wife, at Rod
Bluff, hut owing to the distance it was
2 o'clock Tuesday morning before vve
arrived. From the hour of our arri¬
val wc had very linlc hope of the re¬
covery of Emma. She had given birth
to a healthy boy baby on Sunday
morning that was not fully relieved,
and on account of it sepsis set up, pro¬
ducing blood poison and dea'h by
six o'clock Thursday evening.
It grieved us to sec Emma die. YVe
loved her as vve do her husband, and
vve would be pleased to know that she
received tlie very l>estskillcd treatment
dial our profession is capable of. IVe
are sorry that wc did not bring her to
our own borne six vv^eks ago. But the
Lord gave and the Lord taketh away ;
blessed bo the name of the Lord,
Emma was willing to die, and only
an hour before she died she told us
