The corn crop of Dodge is ex¬
cellent and every bushel of it will
be worth a dollar this winter.
We notice a neat and attractive

So far we have heard no com
plaint from our farming friends

we guess the cotton crop is safe.

Last Friday afternoon we visited
the slaughter pen of Mr. W W
Thomas, near the city, and wit¬
nessed the modus upper rand i of
preparing beef for market Mr.
Thomas has every convenience for
butchering, and it is really sur¬
prising to see how quickly and
nicely he can kill and dress a beef.
Everything is as clean and nice as
a pin. We noticed in his pasture
a bunch of twenty head of cattle,
and every one of them was as fat
and sleek as if just from the clover
fields of Kentucky, and he inform¬
ed us that he killed none but the
finest and fattest cattle to be had,
and that the people of Euslman
never ha l better beef than he was
now furnishing them.
