AFLOAT IN A BOAT
With a Maniac, Who Tries to

Cocoa, Fla., April 14 —For
hours yesterday Mrs. Benj.
ger was adrift in a boat with a
niac, who made repeated
to cut her throat with a razor,
stroke inflicting a gaping

help, and Mrs. Ivoerger,
by her husband, was carried to
residence near by. She was
fatally injured, and was revived in
about an hour, and told the
ing story of her voyage*
“My husband and I left
at 6 o’clock yesterday morning in
a boat for Titusville, where I
to take the train for New York.
Mr. Ivoerger lias brooded greatly
over our approaching
and soon after we entered the
began to act strangely, and
denly he dropped the oars, and,
shouting, “I can’t let you go, dear,’
drew a razor and slashed at niv
throat, gashing it on t lie right side.
‘•I realized that he was crazy
and threw my arms about him and
told him J wodld not leave him,
and this quieted him for a time,
but his frenzy returned and he tried
to cut me. He is not strong, and
by clasping him tightly I saved
myself. The struggles continued
at intervals until in the afternoon,
when 1 fainted from the loss of
blood and terror, and I knew no
more until 1 found myself here.”

fatal illness of our beloved daugh¬

indebted, and adopt this means of
extending to them the tribute of
