A hammock was lying on the Hour
in the hall, and while attempting
to walk across the hall the little

caught in the hammock, which
threw him to the Hour, breaking
his left leg just below the thigh.
Mrs. Jackson carried him home
as quickly as possible and Dr.
Herrmun was immediately sum¬

limb, and administered such other
medical treatment as was necessa¬

a great deal, but is getting along
nicely at present, and we trust
will soon be well again.

COUNTY NEWS. I
From Rawlins.

The Christian Science folks have
just closed a three days’ meeting
at the shelter in which they claim
to heal the sick, restore the blind
to sight, make the lame to walk,
the deaf to hear and even to raise
the dead, but we will state right
hero that in our opinion it would
be a very small corpse that they
could raise.
We are experiencing one ot the
most severe drouths this section
has sutiered in many years, In
some localities a half crop of com
cannot be made with all the rain
that may fall from now on, and
we do not know of any place where
anything like an average crop will
bo made. (Inrdens a re aim .st
parched up, and the farmers will
hardly be able to save seed peas
this year, owing to the fact that it
has been too dry for the peas
planted to come up. The cotton
crop is also damaged to a great, ex¬
tent. and the sugar-cane and sweet
potato crop is eut off at least fit)
