PROF. TALFOURD SMITH.
Professor Talfourd Smith, Principal
Siloam High School, Siloam, Ga., writes
“With much pleasure I recommend
Peruna to all who may be suffering with
any trouble of the respiratory organs,
I have been using it in my family for
the past five or six years and find it tc
be almost a household necessity. Peni
na is truly a grand catarrh remedy anc
general tonic and will do all that it
claimed for It by the manufacturers. ”
—PROF. TALFOURD SMITH.
Catarrh is inflammation of the mucous
membrane. It may be in the mucous
membrane lining the eyes or the pelvis
organs, throat, stomach, liver, bowels ol
kidneys. »
Catarrh is catarrh wherever located.
Peruna cures catarrh wherever located.
Peruna is an internal remedy; not s
local application.
Catarrh is a systemic disease, not a
local disease. If Peruna will cure catarrh
in one place it will cure it in any othei
place, because Peruna is a systemic rem
edy. It reaches the disease through the
circulation in organ. It eradicates
the disease by* eradicating it from the
system.
If you do not derive prompt and satis
factory result? from the use of Peruna,
write at once to Dr. Hartman, giving a
full statement of your case and he will
be pleased to give you his valuable ad
vice gratis.

EDUCATIONAL RALLY.
The people of Franklin county are
to be congratulated upon the combi
nation of circumstances that gave
them their knew School Commis-'
sioner, ex-State Senator W. H. Cobb
For his height, breadth, and weight
in avordupois it would be indeed
difficult to find a man more chock
full of energy, zeal, and enthusiasm.
In the excellent work which he did
at the Teachers’ Institute held at
Carnesville this summer, and the
splendid efforts he has since made to
arouse new interest among the peo
ple of the rural districts in common
schools he has shown that he Is the
right man in the right place.
The educational rally held at Sandy
I Cross last Saturday was the most en
thusiastic meeting of the kind we
have ever attended. In point of at
tendance and the interest manifested
it was the most remarkable meeting
of the kind ever held in the county.
A morning and afternoon session
i were held.
The speakers were Commissioner
j Cobb, Prol. Abbott, principal Tugalo
i Institute, Carnesville, Prof. Bailey,
principal Royston High School, and
Mortimer Looney, of the Hartwell
Institute.
The speeches were all ou topics of
timely interest and were well re
ceived by two large audiences.
Dinner was spread on the grounds,
and had the crowd been twice as
large there would have still been an
abundance for all.
This was the last of a series of ral
lies that have been held in different
parts of the county during the past
three weeks, and as a result the peo
ple all over the county have become
inspired on the subject of education.
Under the splendid leadership of
Prof. Cobb they say they are going
to make the schools of Franklin sec
ond to those of no other county in
the state.
Can not Hart county follow suit?

We had something like a re

present: Mrs. E. G. Craft and
granddaughters, Misses Jean
Craft and Margie Linder, of
Hartwell; Mrs. Flora J. Lewis
and daughter, Misif Sarah, of
1044 sth ave., Louisville, Ky.;
Mr. Leonard Goss and sister,
Miss Flora, of Bowman, Ga.;
Mr. B. 11. Goss, ourself and
11 children and grandchildren.
It was the holy Sabbath, and we
trust that our enjoyment on that
occasion was no desecration of
the day ; but typical of that rest
which remains for God’s faith
ful ones when the Sabbath of
eternal rest shall dawn on them.
Miss Etta Reid, who has been
indisposed some three weeks
from fever, has passed the crisis,
we hope, and will soon be her
self again.
Col. 11. 11. Wilcox, of Hart

Rev. T. J. Rucker did not
meet his appointment at this
place last Sabbath. The meet

he is pastor, closed on that day
with we trust hopeful results.
Mrs. Flora Lewis and daugh
