Game Warden Says
Be Good Sports
Hunt to your heart’s content,
Georgia folks, but use a little dis
cretion.
Or, in the exact words of State
Game Commissioner Peter S. Twitty:
“Be a true sport and don’t go
wild” is the injunction to those who
will hunt this season.
“The department hopes the folks
in the State are going to enjoy hunt
ing. It does a man good to get out
into the open and burn some powder
now and then, but there are a few
things he ought to keep in mind.
First, respect the law. If there
were not good reasons for putting
legal limitations on hunting game, we
wouldn’t have any game laws. There
were none of them enacted as jokes,
they are all serious and yet not one
of them is a handicap on the reason
able pleasure and enjoyment of field
sport. Moreover, the measure of
success which the State and the
sportsman alike can have during the
hunting season depends more on the
voluntary cooperation of the true
sportsman than it does on the rigid
harsh enforcement of these laws. For
instance, the bag limit during the
quail season is twenty-five in a day.
That’s quite enough for any hunter
to want to kill.
“Not one of the birds killed can be
sold in the State; not one of them
can be shipped out of the county in
which they are killed; not one of them
can be served in any public eating
place; not one of them can be mailed.
None of that means a citizen who
wants to go hunting is prohibited
from going into another county to
hunt. He can do that under a State
hunting license. Then, when he has
gotten his twenty-five birds and
comes home, he can bring them back
with him, of course. If he wants to
send a few of them to the neighbor
next-door for the family supper table,
that’s perfectly ligitimate. The whole

What Your Eyes Tell
We are told that the eyes of the
intellectual man are gray, and it is a
fact that most men of genius have
gray eyes. Brown eyes are said to
express temperament rather than in
tellect.
Although brown eyes flash with an
ger, light up with joy, and change
swiftly with jealousy, blue and gray
eyes cun express greater sadness.
Green and black eyes are supposed
to be the most wicked. Becky Sharp’s
green eyes played an important part
in her various conquests.
The “vamp” in modern fiction usual
ly possesses flashing eyes of either
green or black. Actually, there are
no black eyes; dark brown or dark
gray eyes have the appearance of be
ing black in certain lights.

M. Inaudi easily beat Ids mechan

round —extracting the square root of

In the third round, which consisted

Fruit Trees For Sale
In selecting our apple and peach |
varieties we chose only those of good i
quality and well adapted to the soil
and climate of this section. Don’t
experiment with varieties, it’s too
expensive, takes too long and usually
ends in disappointment.
Our trees are two years old, grown
and shaped for the home orchard.
Every tree thrifty, stocky, free from
disease and true to name. The fact
that we are fruit tree growers in
stead of agents or dealers assures
you of better and cheaper trees than
yuo have heretofore bought. Then,
too, if our stock should, for any
reason, fail to comply with your ex
pectations, you have a direct re
course. Whereas, in the case of
agents, they are usually hard to
find.
Patronize your home Nursery. We
appreciate your trade.
For the convenience of the public
we have some of our trees in the va
cant lot between the stores of J. D.
Matheson & Son and T. 11. Johnson.
Price $3.00 per dozen, $20.00 per
