The Quarterly meeting was nearly
rained out. Some came and heard
a good sermon and had nice lunch.

Mr. and Mrs. J. E. C. Teasley en
tertained the teachers at a sumptu
ous dinner Monday which was enjoy
ed to the limit by all. Not only the
dinner, but the association of these
saintly people was considered a treat
by all present.

There are several new moves in
this community. We welcome them
all in our community.
Mrs. J. B. Williams, of Bowers
ville, visited relatives in this com
munity last week.
Miss Clara Ganies, of Air Line,
spent a few days last week with Miss
Annie Banister.
Mrs. Waco Bowers and Mrs. W.
F. Moorhead spent one day last week
with their brother, Mr. Morgan
Williams and family in Lavonia.

Everybody enjoyed the box supper
at Mt. Vernon Friday night. Even if
the weather was bad we had a large
crowd.
Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Fleming and
Mrs. R. L. Bailey made a trip to At
lanta Wednesday. Mrs. Bailey went
for treatment.
Mrs. Carl Duncan and baby spent
Wednesday with Mrs. M. J. Isom.
Mrs. Sam Fleming visited the home
of Mrs. John Boleman recently.
Mrs. Bytha White spent Monday
night with Mrs. W. L. Osborne.
Mrs. W. C. O’Barr spent Wednae
day with Mrs. Doc Bailey, of Kings
Bench section.
Miss la Foster, of Reed Creek, is
visiting Mrs. Pete Fleming and
friends of this place.
Miss Dollye Isom visited Misses
Jewel and Audery Isom recently.
Mrs. Doc Bailey and baby visited
Mr. and Mrs. W. C. O’Barr recently.

Our school with its able corp of
teachers is doing some excellent work
and we feel sure of it success in
every department of its work through
the coming year.

Hope to hear of her improvement

Miss Mary Turner returned to
Easley, S. C., on last Sunday to take
her work as teacher at that place
again. We would have been glad to
have kept her in this section. We
have need of all good teachers
Mr. J. M. McCurley, Mrs. D. J
Bradley and Mrs. Walker Chapman
were the guests of Rev. and Mrs. J.
D. Turner on last Wednesday.
Mrs. M. M. Richardson is missed
very much in her Sunday school
room, and hope her visit will soon
terminate that she may take her
place again at Sardis. ’
Mr. and Mrs. Lyt Richardson and
Prof. H. H. Maddox were the guests
of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. McMullan on
last Sunday. That dining table sho’
did look like it had a Christmas din
ner on it.
We were indeed sorry to have Mr.
Lonnie Myers and family to move
from this community to Lavonia, as
they were indeed a family of splendid
qualities. Our loss is Lavonia’s gain.
We are glad to have Mr. and Mrs.
Herndon and family of Elbert county
to come in our midst. We welcome
all such to our community.
Mr. E. E. Neese of Riverside will
move his family to Anderson in the
near future. We hate very much to
give up this splendid family which
means so much to our church and
community.
