Misses Nannie and Narcie Clarke are spending this week with relatives in Anderson, S. C. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Bray spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Whitworth, of Hartwell. On last Friday afternoon the Thrift Club enjoyed an interesting program at the home of Mrs. R. P. Robertson, after the program deli cious refreshments were served. I -Rattie whitehead. CASH-BROWN WEDDING A marriage of much interest to a wide circle of relatives and friends was that Sunday, February 1 1905 is s Frances Jewel Cash ’to Mr.’ W line M. Brown. The ceremony was performed at the residence of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. James C. Cash, in the presence of a few close relatives and friends. Dr. T. M. Galphin, of Greenville, b. C., pastor of Bio Baptist church, performed the ceremony. The bride is a beautiful and ac complished young woman, and has a personality that has won her many warm friends. Mr. Brown is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. N. P. Brown, of this city, and a young man of splendid reputation. He is in the employ of the county as guard and makes an efficient officer. The Sun joins the many friends of the popular young couple in extend ing hearty congratulations and best wishes for a long, happy and prosper our journey through life. o— *♦**♦♦**.» GOLDMINE We had a delightful meeting at our last teachers and parents meeting. H. W. Bingham our live county agent was present with us with his picture machine and gave some valuable ad vice on gardening and other things. Many games played and fine music was rendered by the Goldmine string band. We want every parent in the district to be present next meeting. Our school is doing some fine work for our boys and girls. The boys and girls each have a fine basketball team. Our girls played Sardis Con solidated School Friday, score 7 and 5 in favor of Goldmine. Miss Gladdis Singleton spent Sat urday night with Miss Dexter Bryan. Next Sunday is preaching day at Hendrys. W. T. Ford gave the teachers and young people an old time candy pulling Friday night which was en joyed by all present. Over 100 bales of cotton to be picked yet. Martin Gillreath was a visitor to Madison county Monday. J. E. Crittenden and family visited relatives in Royston Sunday. The chicken sale was a success at Hartwell Wednesday for many from here sold on that day. We are glad to see so many farmers interested in poultry. We are glad to see so many of our good farmers dragging the roads that run by their farm. Gene Garrett and family visited M. Gillreath and family Sunday. Mrs. F. E. Sadler is right sick. J. L. Sadler, of Anderson, S. C., visited his parents here Thursday. Ervin Stone, of Anderson, S. C., visited J. A. McCollum Sunday. Claud Barton and family visited J. A.
