Will Beautify Bankhead Highway.
According to Tuesday’s Anderson
(S. C.) Independent, the matter of
beautifying State Highway No. 8
was one of the most important sub
jects to come before the Anderson
County Council of Farm Women in
our neighboring city last Monday.
It was unanimously decided that the
council should co-operate in the
planting of flowers and shrubbery
along this highway from the Green
ville county line to Alford’s bridge.
Needless to say, this bit of news
from Anderson county is interesting
and to be appreciated.
The local chapter D. A. R. has al
ready decided to join in the plan to
beautify this route which is a part
of the famous Bankhead Highway.
Other Hartwell and Hart county or
ganizations will also join in the plan,
which will make this one of the most
attractive highways through the
South.
