Distinguished Visitors Are In Hartwell For Two~Day Visit PUBLIC INVITED TO SESSIONS AT METHODST CHURCH STATE OFFICERS HERE I ■ I— ■ ■■ Prominent club women represent ing- practically every town and coun ty in the entire Eighth Congressional district are in Hartwell this Thurs day and Friday attending the annual session of the Eighth District Feder ation of Women’s Clubs. Official hosts of the convention are the Hartwell Woman’s Club and the Hartwell Brenau Club, the two local federated bodies, assisted by all the other organizations of the community. Meeting* In M; E. Church. Sessions will be held in the Hart well Methodist church, the public be ing cordially invited to attend the program on Thursday night and dur ing Friday, the convention coming to a close late Friday afternoon. Many distinguished visitors from | a distance are expected in addition | to those residing in the bounds of the District. Special Program Arranged. A program that fairly sparkles with interesting numbers and enter tainments for the fair visitors has been arranged, including receptions, luncheons, etc. On the splendid pro gram are several women speakers of note. The occasion promises to be one of the most enjoyable and profitable the body has had in many years. Hartwell and community have opened wide the doors to the visitors for these two days, and it is, indeed, a great pleasure to have the convention in this city. One of the outstanding features of the session will be the President’s Breakfast at the Hotel Hartwell on Friday morning at 8:30 o’clock. Mrs. Phil W. Davis, of Crawford and Lex ington, will be toastmaster. In charge of the arrangements for this event are Mrs. H. I. Alford and Mrs. A. C. Skelton, which assures the suc cess of this part of the two days’ program. Begin* Thursday Afternoon. The Executive Board will meet at 3:30, May 21st, Hartwell Methodist church. The Credential Committee will be at the Hotel Hartwell at 3 o’clock to register guests. All dele gates will be entertained during their stay in Hartwell as guests of the Hartwell Woman’s Club and Brenau Club. From 7 to 8 o’clock the John Ben son Chapter, Daughters of the Amer ican Revolution, and the Hartwell Chapter, Daughters of the Confed eracy, will entertain at a reception at the home of Mrs. Steve Skelton. Friday morning at 8:30 o’clock the President’s Breakfast will be held at Hotel Hartwell, Brenau Club and Hartwell Woman’s Club hostesses. The Kiwanis Club, assisted by Hostess Clubs will entertain all guests at luncheon Friday at the auditorium. Many distinguished visitors are ex pected. Elaborate plans have been worked out for the event from the start Friday night until the grand finale on Friday evening, May 29th, when the largest graduating class in the history of Hartwell High will receive their diplomas. The scholastic year 1924-25 has; been the largest and most effective in the experience of our school system. The enrollment has been very large, interest on the part of pupils and parents has been exceptional, and much splendid work has been accom plished in every department. Commencement Program.
