Mrs. Dora Pearman spent the past week with her sister, Mrs. J. A. Gloer, in Bowman. Mr. John Henry Teasley, of Reid ville, S. C., spent last week-end here with his brother, Mr. W. D. The storerooms occupied by Me- I Clure’s and J. E. Dendy are among the places brightened up with a coat of paint the past few days. Rev. and Mrs. R. P. Ford, of Wad ley, are visiting relatives in town and county. After September Ist Rev. Ford will be at Mercer, whera he has charge of the school. Misses Frances Hubbard and Mabel Lee, of Royston, Misses Lucile Wil liams and Jewel King, of Cordele, the house guests of Miss Lee, were the charming guests of Mrs. Loyd Teasley on Friday of last week. In the evening this group motored over to Starr, S. C., where they were hon or guests at a delightful dinner at the Pruitt Hotel. Messrs. A. N. Al ford, Jr., Spencer Linder, Robert E. Cox and Enoch B. Benson completed the party. J. L. Cobb and Clay Brown spent last week in Asheville, N. C. Mr. Alton B. Holland has been spending several days here with his mother, Mrs. W. Y. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Claude E. Sorrells will be glad to know that this family will again make their home in Hartwell, after spending several months in Ander son, S. C. Ernest Willie Edwards, of Rome, spent last week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Edwards, near Mt. Zion. Charles Edwards has returned from a stay of several weeks in Fitz gerald and Brunswick. Mr. James W. Stephens, of Cin cinnati, Ohio, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Newman, of Atlanta, spent the week end with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry E. Stephens. Misses Beulah and Eula Stephens accompan ied them to Atlanta for an extended visit. Richardson was hostess on last Thursday afternoon, enter taining a number of friends at bridge in compliment to Mrs. Homer C. Parker, of Statesboro. Following a number of games the guests were served a delicious course of refreshments. Assisting Mrs. Richardson in enter taining was her sister, Miss Mary Matheson. Mrs. Wt Z. Yates and son, Jack, left for Douglasville Tuesday where they are attending a family reunion. Miss Frances Yates preceded them visiting in Atlanta before going to Douglasville. Miss Mavis Mcßee, of Watkins ville, was the attractive guest the past week of Miss Mary Holland. Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Tucker and family, of Due West. S. C., are vis iting Mr. and Mrs. Howard Pearman and Mr. and Mrs. George Richard son and families. Mrs. Inez Bond and daughter, Sara Lee, have returned from a visit to relatives in Elberton. Miss Louise Wright is visiting Miss Myrtle Crawford. Mrs. McCade Alford has returned from a visit to her mother, Mrs. J. W. Varnon, in Atlanta. Claude Campbell is spending a while in Miami, Fla. Bell, proprietor of the : Hartwell Coca-Cola Co., is in receipt of the report as made August 3, 1925, by Inspector W. M. Alman, of the Service Dept., Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Atlanta, Ga. In every instance i the Hartwell plant was rated 100 points. This speaks well for Mr. Bell and his corps, and is assurance ■ that his drinks are always pure. Mr. Schafer Skelton, since the blaze Saturday, has moved into the Kidd building, opposite Elrod's store. They are doing business as usual. No clothing was damaged by the fire or water Saturday. Herring, of Ellaville, Ga., spent Monday night at the Estes’ home en route home from Montreat, N. C., the Presby terian summer camp. Mr. Herring is one of south Georgia’s best known educators.
