that gladdened our eyes and warm

Turning back in our thoughts, we
well n member the time when
Uncle Pen drove into the old vil
lage with his oxcart, loaded with
an altrni tive lot of his handmade

“Saloon” or rather bar room of Jim
Kane, who was to.sell them for his
old fin mi. It was suggested to the
old man I hat he would do well to
see tiie Editor of the Bulletin, pro
cure a place in the columns of his
Journal, and a special notice. This
was soon arranged and the best

his way to the Post office to have
his regular wordy combat with the
quick tempered irascible Post .Mas

mail. Tlio old Mulberry was in Ins

glasses to his well defined nose, and
read carefully over the pages of'the
Bulletin- After finishing, he raised
bis right hand and with the index
finger pointing straight at the
rhyming advertisement, exclaimed
with that emphatic manner, so
characteristic of him “Honest Un

from the scene and with a snort pe

a soliloquy, for there was no one
near, but, the Editor and ho was at
a respectable distance- The bris

well remembered the long rides

—CELEBRATED BRANDS OF GUANO—
lerryman's A. D. Bones,
ferryman’s GEORGIA TEST.
We can say without any fear of contradiction that Merryman’s Per
tiliz* rs are to-day, as they have been for 30 years, at the very top in
excellence, and the perfect satisfaction they give to planters.
While most of the popular brands on the market in past years have
changed the grade of their goods by lowering their grade, Merry man
has continually improved. We do not make these statements at random.
We refer to any plan tor in Jones and Jasper counties who have usd
orrymau’s Guano, and will stake our reputation on the result.
— WE ALSO HANDLE—
SNO.S:.T?S0E.Z3 E33J3 ZrOTST
for composting, which is the highest grade acid on the market. We sell
cheapo - acid phosphates; also Kain t, and are agents for the Macon Oil
& Fertilizer Company for the sale of their Cotton Seed Meai.
Wo can give low prices on these goods, and arc ready to deliver now.
Our Agents will call on the good people of Jones and Jasper coun
ties, and we trust will receive their orders.
