the County last week and spent
Thursday night in Clinton.
Contractors L. A. James and A. F.
James have finished grading the
Southern and Florida R; It. to Val
dosta and finished moving, teams,
carts hands and mules last Saturday
to their hemes in Jones County.

Johnson have returned to Clinton,
Mr. Reynolds, who is still in New
Orleans deems it not prudent for
them to return until a “big frost.”
Although there is no yellow fever
in N. O. he thinks “descretiou the
better part of valor.”
The State Fair will be held.
The citizens committee and the
Agriculture Society met at the
Hotel Lanier Monday, November
5th is tho day the great State fair
will open and will continue for
one week.
The communication from Franks
was received too late for last weeks
edition. We insert part of it this
week erasing that which was “old
news.” We are always glad to
have letters from the different sec
tions of the county, for we want
all the good, news of the day and
times.
There seems to be a demon abroad
in Londona-kin to the one who sev
eral months committed just such
murders in Louisiana, There
have been in the last weeks, three
women, (of low character tis true)
murdered, and horribly mutilated
in the streets of London and no
clue to the perpetrator. Large re
wards have been offered by the
Lord. Mayor and others.
