which had been grown on the
plantation of Mrs. Head in this

Mr. Z T. A!maud is one of the
most successful farmers in Rockdale
county and we doubt if thero is im
othcr farm in tbe county that has
.on an average as line crops on it as
jhis. lie is iho champion melon
jaiser. Fourteen years ago be
bought two melons near Augusta
and planted the seed from them. He
has kept tho seed puie and now
raises an abundance of melons every
year weighing from 40 to 60 pounds.
—Solid South,
Mr. Geo. W. CunnarJ gives the
Enterprise a short sketch of his
futher’s ;>access since he married:
“My father lives in Rockdale
county, Sheffield d’stiict, 5 miles
east of Conyers. He has been mar
ried 48 years and resides to-day
where he has lived 47 years. Ho
lias never bought a bnsliel of corn
nor a pound ot meat, nor a sack ot
flour since be married, and ns a
general thing pays cash for hi* gu
ano. He has 40 or 50 head of line
hogs and always has corn for sale.
The seoret of success is to raise
your produce at home.” If George
