A chunk of anatomy of ebon}*
hued vaiiety rode up to the store
door of F. H. Johnson a few days
ago, wearing a shirt which expos¬
ed to view his entire, bare neck,
around which was a small cotton
string that passed through a hole
in a ragged, jagged little lump of
something, and when I asked
w h fl t it was, he said that it was
tho wisdom tooth of a hog ne was
weocing around his neck for tooth
nc i, e . I asked him if it cured it
and he replied that it did.
If such things continue to be¬
fftll me as j an ', f mng to toll of I
will be forced to think after a
while that I must he kin to Peck’s

dressed to make a call and
was ready to start, when I discov-

then I grabbed the bottle of pol¬
ish in my left hand and t he mop
in my right and at the polishing
business I went, like I was mad,
and 1 was sorter, and as hot as a
wool mill besides, At this stage
of tbe game something like a halt
dozen flics, one after another, bc-
gan to promenade around on the

with the polish mop and in my
left I held the bottle, and when I
didn’t iiave tho mop sloshing
around in tho bottle for more
jui.ee I would shoo the flies off of
my head with the hand that held
tho bottle. Finally when the .whole
lot of flies made a desperate grab
at my scalp I struck at them with
a vim with my left hand and in
doing so poured about one-third
of the contents of a full bottle of.
polish right smack on top of my
head. Before I hardly knew it the
stuff had made its way around my
neck from both sides and was
dripping down on my shirt front.
I straightened up to stop it., only
to have it strike a blue streak
down my back. The question
then arose as to which was best,
to stand on my head or on my
feet. In my desperation I threw j
up both hands and said “Let ’tu

shut both eyes right tight and i

I hear on many sides that the
agricultural display at our next
fair will be better than ever. But
what about tho ladies’ exhibit?
Shall we not unite to make our
exhibit better than before? Our
() ] ( ] countv has won too great a
reputation to lose it now, and in
order to sustuln it we must have
that premium at the State Fair.
Let us enter into this with that
idea rather than for any individ¬

Jones can have that premium
the people will only give “a long
pull, a strong pull and a pull all

Every business man who lias

In order to attract them he
knows that he must interest them.
To interest them is the principal

To interest people different bus¬
