After a continued illness of sev-
oral months, Mrs Elizabeth
tier departed this life June 20th
at the homo of her grand (laugh-
ter, Mrs E E Pounds, She suffer
ed much during her long illness,

Saturday evening about two
o'clock tire was discovered m Mr.

at the home of her grandfather,
ML G. C. Smith. She was sick
about ten days.
The remains were interred Tues¬
day afternoon in tho Clinton
cemetery by the side of her moth¬
er who died about nine months
ago.
One of tho prettiest and most
exciting games of hall seen on the
Clinton diamond this season was
tlm game played Saturday
between the Vineville, Macon,
team and tlm Clinton youngsters.
At the opening ol tho game it
was seen that both teams were
evenly matched Jand the “fans”
expected to see a splendid exliibi-
tioiof tho national game. It was
a battle royal from beginning I"
end, the visitors taking the game
by a score of 7 to 0. The visiting
team was accompanied by a bund
wagon loaded with sponsors and
rooters who kept things alive
throughout the game.
