At the court house site I

several young ladies the platform
of brick, mortar and stone was

scene by the intertwining of vines ]

An organ hadjbeen secured
at the appointed opened with

music. M C Greene, representing
the county commissioners, wel¬
comed the crowd ami turned the
exorcises over to the Masonic fra¬
ternity of Macon,

acted ns Grand Muster and con-
ducted the masonic ceremonies
which wore indeed interesting to
our pocple, they had nevor
befuro witnessed such. During
tho ceremonies ho delivered a
speech that was pronounced by
nil to be a gem. Our people were
agreeably surprised, for Jwhilo
they knew Mr Davis to be gifted
in many respects, they wore yet
to learn of his superior orutorieul
