the much loved St Valentino.

their destination, where their hos¬

ceived them with a cordial wel¬

the parlor it was evident that

reigned supreme. Hearts, hearts
every where! Surely a metioric
shower must have dropped them

and many were the couples who
smiled therein.

ed themselves either good or poor
shots. Each taking the heart ho

found a girls name—his partner

produced much merriment.
After returning to tho parlor
hearts decorated with cupids were
passod and each couple requested
to write thereon a telegram of
ten words to cupid, which were
afterwards read amid peals of
laughter. Tho young nwn were
next asked to stand 111 middle of
room, one at a time, and bo blind
folded. Then a young lady stood ]
neat reading a verse in a disguis¬
ed voice, and if he guessed her
name they went together to “Cu¬
pids Corner” or under Home

doorways. Only two succeeded in
disguising their voices sufficiently
to escape detection. Mrs Jones
