week, representing Mrs. J. W.
Crump, of Charleston, S. C., as de-
fondant in the case pending in
Ordinary’s court to destroy the
dam on Broad river at Crump’s

looking for cattle. Good, fat cat¬
tle are in great demand, and are
bringing a good price.
W. A. Mitchell, one of Martin's
leading business men. and one of
the staunch democrats in the coun¬
ty, was in town Monday and Tues¬
day.
We understand that D. A. Ba¬
ker, of Royston, has simply
knocked the spots out of guano
and is selling it cheaper than any
dealer in this section.
Drs. S. B. Yow and W. L. Mc-
Bath, of Avalon, are in town this
week attending Ordinary’s court
as witnesses in the Crump mill
dam ease.
Col. J. B. Jones, of Toccoa, is
in town this week, representing
the plaintiffs in the Crump mill
dam ease that is being tried be¬
fore Ordinary Crow.
R e v. Hawkins, o f Toccoa,
preached an interesting sermon at
the Carnesville Baptist church
last Sunday morning. 1 here was

Roberson—Defoor.
Mr.. End Roberson, son of J. R.
Roberson, who lives about
miles north of town, was happily
united in marriage last Sunday
morning to Miss Belt in Defoor,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sim
Defoor. Mr. Roberson is one of
our hustling young farmers, while
bride is one of Franklin’s most m-
dustrious daughters. They have
the bast wishes of a large number
of friends.

This community for some time

in a fox chase that has been the
sport of that neighborhood fora

however, too late for the race as
