Dorch elected Mayor of Lavonia _ The mucicipal election held in U •avoma Tuesday resulted- in the lection of Mr. J. R. Dorch, by I safe majority over his opponent V. B. R’chaidson. The council ten elected are T. C. Pallium, . T. Beaslev, AV. S. Maeoimon rid Rush Burton. Mr. J. Will lauldin was elected clerk. There was no opposition to Mr. Jauldin for ihe Clerks place and inly m one place was there oppo¬ sition for council. Three of the pandidates for council were on both tickets. The contest bemg between W. S. Maoomson and Dr. f.'M. Freeman. Mr. Macomson won. The vote w r as as follows: For Mayo** Dorch 128 Richardson 91 For Councilmen T. C. Pulliam 217 J. T. To Be A Success -— The City Court of Frankhn coun ty convened Monday morning ;t nine thirty with Judge Gioige L. Goode presiding, lie was obliging and proved to he the right man in the place. The citizens of ranklin county will be pleased to know it is for the betterment of the county at large. Many important were tried during ^ the two days court was in session. Gimp made for himself a wonderful reputation this week as Solicitor of the City Court. He convicted every man that lie was ask to convict and dis- charged the duties of this office of ficiently. He is one of the ablest lawyers in Northeast Georgia and much credit, not only for i the way he handle the affairs as Solicitor of this court, lie is a self made man and has done much for both his home people and friends. Bra- ,1 refused a new trial in the case of J. AV. Par;ee. who is charged with killing of the Davis brotlic s at a circus at Lavonia. Mr. Partee was convicted of homicide and sentenced to fifteen years, but Judge Brand in Mon¬ day reduced this sentence to twelve years.
