There was a large and disappointed

He has a "re.it deal of work to do

he ought to ri member that the coun¬

So far as we arc imlivdnally con¬

We arc not running a sympathy
Behedule nor ]>osing as a martyr of
jierseetition. We ezpect to work
a living and give value received for
what we get. M’e expect onr
to be paaronized for its merits and
principles, and not for abuse, or old
stale lies circulated by the
1 .ankers and politicians through
partisan press.
There are thousands of women
and girls up north who make shirts
for 24 cents a dozen, and a fine pair
of pants for 12 cents, if they complain
they are discharged, and sometimes
without pay. They must then starve,
suicide or sell their virtue for food
and clothes. Is this the land of tire
free and the home of the brave?
The Atlanta Journal and its folio-
