John E. Gordin,
The alliance of Georgia would <h
well to watch J. B. Cordon. While
ho fought bravely during the war, am!
done many things since the war that
reflects credit on himself and the
people of the state, he has arraigned
himself on the side of the enemy, and
since the organization of the Funnels
Alliance has attempted more than
once to side-track the reform move-

felt his election to the United States
Senate was sure, then denounced the
sub-treasury plank as the only ] lank
in ■ our platform . *... and i it .. was rotten.
Gordon, since his election, has been
among (lie gold bugs of Wall
and since liis departure from New
York for Georgia, he seems to gather
up new courage and propso to come
before the people of the State as a
democratic statesman, lie gives
promise to his co-adjutors that he
would drive the farmers back into the
democratic party, just how lie will do
this is not known for certain. Xo
doubt but he will picture to us the
democratic party in a glowing form.
lie will toll us the democratic party is
the only medium through which we
can get relief. No doubt he will tell
about what those grand old fathers
of the by-gone days have done, lie
will warn us of going into what the
politicians call the third party. He
will tell us that our brethren in the
north-west will prove treacherous to
us, but lot us stand firm. No doubt
but what Gordon is working for wages
from tho Wall street Shy locks, whose
objects 0 are not so much for the dem-
ocratic . party, tor they care not
whether we be democratic or ropub-
lican, if they can only defeat the
farmers’ and laborer’s movement:
They J know the success of the labor-
mg organization means the defeat ot
the plundering schemes of Wall
street and her emmissaries. As to
the democratic jinrty as a j tarty we

ever. The history of the party since
the close of the war shows anything
but relief to the toiling masses. Roth
tho old parties have allied themselves
together, the only difference in the
two is one plunders and tho other
consents.
As to Gordon, he forcibly reminds
us of Benedict Arnold. He served
his people and country well while it
suited liis convenience to do so, but
