very flattering, and with such a code
of principles he will he hard to beat.

It is with sorrow that we record
tlie death of little Olivia, infant
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. AA'. M.
Petit. Little Olivia died the second
inst. from the effects of a burn re¬
ceived February the 29th, and was
buried at Broad River Church. The
funeral services were conducted by
Rev. T. G. Underwood, wbo selected
the following text; “Is it well with
the child, and he answered, It is well.
11 Kings 4th chapter and 20, verse.”
AA'e know that the babe has gone
from the loving arms of its father
and mother, but it rests in the arms
of Jesus, waiting there to welcome
father, mother, brothers and sisters
when they arrive at the other shore.
Though its little form may return to
dust, and the little mound where it
sleeps be forgotten, yet in the morn-
ing of tlie resurrection little Olivia
will come forth to meet father and
mother, and accompany them to
that glory land where they will live
together through all tlie endless
