Miss Lula Burruas gave a school
entertainment at Middle river
school house Saturday night.
Mbs Burruss is one of the lest
teachers in the county, and under¬
stands how to get up an enter¬
tainment. Everyone present came
way pleased.
The late cold snap must have
set back the crop of candidates
that had started to ‘'put out.” If
so, wo hope that this long wet
spell will start them up agaiu.
We have no fears as to a good
crop, for they are as sure as black¬
berries or crabgrass.

The case of T v M. Vandiver vs
the Richmond and Danville Rail
Road Co., was dismissed by the
plaintiff and will be brought
against the Receivers of Elberton
Air Line Rail Road Co., and will
be passed upon by a special Mas¬
ter in Chancery in Atlanta, as it
had to be passed upon in this way
if it had gone to judgment in the
Superior court.
Don’t forget that our school is
still on a boom, and that it is
second to none in the State. Our
teachers are preparing for the
commencement now, and we will
have by far the nicest entertain¬
ment ever seen in Carnesville.
About one hundred students are in
attendance, and all are anxious to
make the commencement better
than any we have ever had. With
one hundred active brains and one
hundred ready hearts, and two
hundred willing hands, guided by
two most excellent teachers, suc¬
