PUBLISHED EVERY FRIDAY
BY CLEM. C. MOORE.
CRA H FORD I ILLE, GEORGIA,
—-—
Entered at the postoffice at Cra-wfoidvi'.le,
Georgia, as second-class mail matter.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 1886.
Marrying Toting Men.
Select the girl.
Agree with the girl’s father in polit
ics and with her mother in religion.
If you have a rival, keep an eye on
him; if he is a widower, two eyes on
him.
Don’t swear to the girl that you
have no bad habits. It will be enough
for you to say that you never heard
yourself snore in your sleep.
Don’t put too much sweet stuff on
paper. If you do, you will hear it
read in after years, when your wife
has some special purpose inflicting upon
you the severest punishment known to
a married man.
Go home at a reasonable hour in the
evening, Don’t wait till the girl has
thrown her whole soul into a yarn that
she can’t coyer wirh both hands. A
little thing like that may cause a cool¬
ness at the very hegining of the game.
If you sit down on some molasses
candy that Willie has left on the chair,
while wearing vour new summer
trousers for the first time, smile sweet¬
ly and remark that you don’t mind
sitting on molass. s candy at all, and
that “hoys will he hoys.” Reserve
you true feelings for future reference.
If, on the occasion of your first cal!,
tne girl upon whom you have placed
your young affections look like an ice¬
berg and acts like a quiet cold wave,
take your leave early and stay away.
Woman in her hours of freeze is uncer¬
tain, coy and hard to please.
In cold weather finish saying good
night in the house. Don’t stretch it
all the way to the front gate, if there
is a front gate, and thus lay the foun¬
dation for future asthma, bronchitis,
neuralgia and chronic catarrh, to help
worry the girl to death after she has
married you.
Don’t be to soft. Don’t say:
“These little hands shall never do a
stroke of work when they are mine,”
aud,“ You shali have nothing to do
in our homo but to sit all day long
andw^hirp t0 the canaries,” as if any
^jPjJnle woman could be that happy sort fooling of
away valuable time in
style; and a girl has a find retentive
memory for the sett things and silly
promisi s of courtship, and occasionally,
in after years, when she is washing the
dinner dishes or patching the west end
of your trousers, she will remind you
of them in a sarcastic tone of voice.

Ed. Dkmockact: We will explain.
The term “early start” seems to have
a rather general signification. Accord¬
ing to the best authorities in the
vicinity, it means when a trip is in
view, that some of the party must be
ready and at the place of meeting at
any lime during the previous night—
after a short nap—awaiting the con¬
venience of others. If several of the
netglil ors agree to meet for the pur¬
pose of preforming some work for the
benefit o! the public, the tune includ¬
ed in “an early start” may be extend¬
ed to 8 o’clock, a. m. or thereabout.
If the above explanation is not satis¬
factory to “Leumas” we refer him to
Mr. W. C. Rhodes. Amicus.

Destroy that Sign
One may feel that lie's getting old, but
he naturally dispaes that anything about
his appearance should advise others of
the fact. Yet notning does this s« effect¬
ually as thin and fallinglu:ir. No woman
wants to marry a man, and business firms
hesitate to employ a man, who show this
fatal sign. Parker's Hair Balsam is worth
to von, in this regard, more than its weight
indiata rads. Use it, and have plentiful
and glossy hair. Man' have nad every
trace of grayness removed and bald spots
covered by using a singie bottle.
A Laptian’s fortunate Discovery.
Capt. Coleman, sclir. Weymouth, ply¬
ing between Atlantic City and N. Y.., had
been troubled with a cough so that he was
unable to sleep, and was induced to try
Dr. K:ngs New Discovery for Consump¬
tion. It not only gavehim instant relief,
but allayed the extreme soreness in his
breast. His children were similarly
affected and a single dose had the same
happy effect. Dr King’s New Discovery
is now the standaiu remedy in the

Sixty hales to seyenty-five acres is
what Sam Arnold expects to make on

One day last week Mr. Thomas

who saw it to he silver.
That good farmer and genial gentle¬

Crawford, two stalks of cotton that

about seven feet in height, and on
