We fully intended to be present at
the pleasant gathering at Mr. E. I.
Anderson’s spring on last Thursday
but could not go. However, we are
told that all who attended had a most

It is perfectly delicious to sit o i the
breezy crest of tins hill and watch the
lights and shadows play ainon the
hills and valleys, and ttie misty dream
fulness of the hazy mountains bathed
iu the languid light of the summer
day.
At our feet lay Ilardins Creek with
its crystal water and curving banks
where ferns and grasses grow, and the
music of its ripples as they dally
among the coves and rocky caverns
was swoet to the ear.
Beyond, only short distance is Little
rever, gliding down from the distant
bills with a gleam on its transparent
tide like the light of a lovers eye as he
hasten d to greet his lady love.
Under the hill In the pretty waters
tiave been placed a bateau and we
spent a while gliding over the silvery
water.
Up through the interlacing trees
came sounds of happy voices and cliil
ish laughter, and from afar the drowsy
winds wafted faint echoes of hymns
of devotion and praise.
There was nothing to clash upon the
sensitive ear. So restful, so peaceful,
so cairn.
Among the tangled vines and fea¬
thery grasses we tramped and talked
and listened until it was time to de-
