Cordele keeps on growing.
The knitting mill that is to be built
and operated in Americus, will cost
the company $1(J,(M)0 for its con
struction .
It is estimated that when liquid
air is reduced to five cents a gallon,
we ought to he able to get three

And Now York City is to have
another sky scraper. It is to be 32
stories in height. It is to have a
frontage on Broadway of 203 feet
and will cost, including the ground,
about $5,000,000. It is understood
that the ground will cost $2,00o,000

W. J. Sandeford was killed by a

A man in Indiana claims that lie

ice can he preserved for an indefinite

James Jones was shot through the
lung Saturday evening in Talbott
county by Julian, his 17-year-old
son, and died. Julian went into the
watermelon patch against the old
man’s orders and refused to take a
whipping for it.
The Madison Advertiser, in writing
up an account of a negro excursion,
made the first two or three lines read
thus: “The negro excursion to Macon
was a roaring, fighting,howling suc
cess.” Yes, brother, and four-fifths
of such excursions turn out just that
way.
The papers are noticing the organ
ization of a colony of silent women
in Japan. No such a oolony could be
organized in this country, says the
Thomasville Times-Enterprise.
