OBITUARY.
Miss Amanda Bedgood was bom
Sept. 22,187ft; died July 19, 1899. She
was the daughter of Hon It. A. Bed
good.
The first date tells the beginning of
a life that was always sweet and pure
and unselfish, revealing new beauties
and exhaling sweeter perfume as the
years passed by, until it became fairly
luminous as it neared the horizon and
caught the glow from the Beautiful

Brave and cheerful always, her sincere
ly and fortitude under great suffering
for two months and two weeks was
truly heroic. Everyone was brightened
by a visit to her bedside and realized
that she was sustained by an unseen
force. She fought the battle of life
bravely, ever trusting in the Lord.
The Church has lost a royal member,
and the Lilliputian Club its founder.
But we feel that our loss is heaven’s
gain ami we bow in humble submis
sion to the unerring haDd of God.
All these years have not been spent
in vain; for in all the relations of life
She has faithfully discharged every
obligation due to her and family, her
neighbors, her church, her God.
Her pious life and her unselfish de
votion those around to duty and the been welfare of all
her, has a benedic
tion to the world, and it is consoling
to those she leaves behind to know
that she enters into the reward of a
well spent life. Printed pages cannot
only the the good work she has done, but
page of eternity can reveal
wbat she has wrought for the Master
and human family. Long will it be
before her place in the Master’s vine
and in which she lived can be
filled.
She had lived in Arabi all her life
and she is widely known. The entire
community extends sympathy to the
bereaved family and near friends.
As she sleeps in her silent grave, let
it be said :
“Rest, Amanda, thy work is done,
Thy form is laid beneath the sod:
Thy angel spirit hymning praises
Aroung the eternal throne of God. ’ ’

Dedication of Baptist Church,
The handsome new house of
worship at Richwood, Ga., will be
dedicated on next Sunday, the
30th instant. The dedicatory ser
mon will be preached by Dr. S. Y.
Jameson, the Corresponding Sec
retary of the State Mission Board.
They hope to have with them
Rev.E. Culpepper of Cordele,Rev.
J. M. Kelly and Rev. Mr. Jackson
of Vienna, Rev. Isaac Hobby and
Rev. Frank Culpepper of Ash burn,
and others, on this occasion. The
house is 40x50, of modern style
and finish and is one of the pret
tiest churches in the county.
