Dooly Coiipty Superior Court opened last Monday at Vienna for the regular fall session, his honor, Judge Z. A. Littlejohn presiding. ized The court was organ with but little delay, the charge of Judge Littlejohn to the grand jury being short, but as usual strong and to the point. Solicitor Frank A. Hooper is on hand and with bis usual skill and ability is aiding the court and grand jury in every way possible, so far as his office is concerned. The grand jury is very strong, be ing composed of some of our best men; Mr. R. C. Harris, of Cor dele, is foreman. There are many prominent vjs» iting lawyers present from Sum ter, Macon, Bibb, Pulaski and other adjoining counties. Several cases of importance have already been tried during the week while many have gone over till next term. Farmers are wishing for a shorter session than usual so as to take advantage of all time possi ble in the cotton fields. It is said that on account of the numerous courts in Dooly this year the county treasury is depleted and the grand jury will have to authorize the treasurer to negotiate a loan in order to meet the ex penses of this court. This is quite a contrast with three or four years ago when Dooly paid no county taxes. A Word to Mothers.
