Be it ordained by the Mayor
and City Council of the city of
Cordele, Ga., and it is hereby or
dained by the same, That none of
the license lax herein specified
shall be prorated. Be it further
ordained that the Marshal shall
see to it., that all who live in the
city and do a business in said city
subject to any of the above men
tioned tax, pay their tax prompt
on demand, or report same to tlie
clerk,and take steps as the lawmay
direct to recover the tax due by
such defaulter.
It is also ordained, That should
the Marshal fail to promptly see
and require all who are subject to
tax, using his utmost ability to
collect same as required by law,
that be subjects himself to being
displaced and a marshal put in his
place who will attend to the work
as it should he done.
Bo it further ordained by au
thority aforesaid, That tlie Mar
shal of said city »f Cordele" shall
proceed at once to levy and sell the
property of the defaulting special
license tux payer as required by
the charter of said city to-wit: If
personal property to post in three

Mr. W. W. Shipp, after turning
the clerk and treasurer’s office
over to the new clerk, Mr. J. M.
Davis, left for Gainesville, which
place will he his future home. Mr.
Shipp has been a great mover in
many enterprises for Cordele, and
his gratis work here will be re
membered for a long time. We
sorrow to see a man so thoroughly
identified with Cordele and her in
terests leave us, aud nothing but
good wishes follow him from our
people to his new home.

their said business throughout the
United States.
7. Petitioners desire the right to
buy, rent, lease and own all kinds of
real and personal property.
8. That the right and power to
sue and be sued, to have the use of a
common seal, to borrow or loan money
on bonds, notes or other legal evi
dence of debt
9. That the affairs of said corpora
tion shall be conducted by a president,
vice-president; secretary and geueral
manager and treasurer, who shall
have the power to make all by-laws for
the government of the said corpora
tion, and shall have the power from
time to time to change them as may
seem necessary. And that each stock
holder shall be entitled to one vote
per share on all matters which stock
holders vote, and that the individual
liability of each stockholder shall ex
tend only to the amount of his unpaid
stock subscription.
Wherefore with such your others petitioners be pray
they, as may as
sociated with them, may be
rated as aforesaid with all the rights
and privileges as above order specified.
That in passing an granting
this their application, and that their
associates and successors, and body,
under the name and style aforesaid,
for and during the term above men
tioned, etc., ask to be entitled to all
the privileges granted to like corpora
tions under the existing laws of the
State, and subject to-the liabilities
