•settled on my lungs and was neg

tion had appeared in an incipient
slate. I was constantly coughing which
and trying to expel something
I. could not. I became alarmed and
after giving the local doctor atrial
bought a bottle of Chamberlain’s
Cough Remedy and the result was
immediate improvement, anil after I
had used three bottles my lungs
were restored to tlieir healthy state.

Our Public Kchoola.
Few people away from Cordeie
knew of the great advantages
offered by our public schools, and
it may lie that the school is not
as well advertised as it should be.
On this score the writer is not
criticizing or finding fault with
the Board, the Principal, or any
one else. It may be that the
funds at hand are not sufficient, to
spend in this direction.
Myobjectin this little article
is to call the attention of parents
in the country and the country
towns near' the city to our very
superior educational advantages.
In the first place we have a splen
didly equipped building with ten
rooms and all necessary con
veniences, which is rapidly near
ing completion. The superinten
dent is a competent educator,
with an efficient corps of compe
tent teachers whose hearts are in
the work. Blit the best tiling of
all is the cheapness. As to tui
tion it i# absolutely free to all
children between the ages of six
and eighteen years. An inciden
tal fee of one dollar is charged for
each child for each term, making
only two dollars a year the total
cost. This fund is used to pay the
junitor, buy fuel and supply
water.
We do not know of a school any
where in Georgia wbere a child
can receive the benefit of first
class tutorship for such a nominal
sum, and I am constrained to be
lieve if the facts were more gen
erally known that hundreds of
families would locate in this city
for its educational advantages
aloue, but the great draw back at,
present is the lack of homes.
Only a few months ago there
were quite a large number of un
occupied houses in the city, but it
is almost impossible now to rent
one. We may incidentally should re
mark that property owners
start a building boom in Cordeie
this spring, and we verily believe
that five hundred more people
could be added to the population
of the town during the year 1900.
Our school board, as soon as the
finances will admit, should build
two annexes on the grounds in the
rear of the main building, one of
these t,o be used for the purpose
of giving instructions to the girls
in the culinary and domestic arts,
while the other should be supplied allowed
with tools, and the boys
the use of them. The grounds on
the campus should be laid off into
plats and put in high state of
cultivation, and nearly everything
grown in a semi-tr opical climate
should be planted aud worked by
the boys. Instructions should be
given in planting, seed germina
tion, en air. and moisture,

QUESTION ANSWERED.
Yes, August Flower still has
tne largest sale of any medicine
iu the civilized world, Your
mothers aud grandmothers never
thought of using anything else
for Indigestion or Biliousness.
Doctors were scarce, and they
seldom heard of Appendicitis,
Nervous Prostration or Heart
Failure, etc. They u«ed August
Flower to clean out the system and
stop fermentation of undigested
food, regulate the action of the
liver, stimulate the nervous and
organic action of the system, and
that is ali they took when feeling
dull and bad with headaches and
other aches. You only need a few
doses of Green’s August Flower,
in liquid form, to make you sat
isfied there is nothing serious the
matter with you. Sample bottles

By this course the hand and

It is all right to educate our boys
with the R. R. R.’s, but to fit
them for the future battle of life
they need a technical education
as well.
The system above roughly out
lined is adopted all over the Ger
man empire, and the people of in
that country are far superior
intelligence to France, Italy and
other adjacent countries, The
best farmers in the west are Ger
mans.
While residing in the west a
few years ago I noticed these peo
ple carefully. They buy the best
land regardless of cost, have the
best stock and tools, and make
the best crops, The secret of
their success was on account of
knowledge gained at the common
schools in the old country. Let
us all pull for our school. Visit
it often, and assist the teachers in
their work, and encourage both
the children and teachers. In a
few years, after adding these
technical departments, the close
observer would notice quite a
change for the better in our citi
zenship. W. T. 0.
