TO THI-5 GRAN0 .f CRY.
We trust that the grand jury
drawn for this term of Dooly su
perior court, which convnes next
Monday, will not make , the , same
mistake the last grand jury made in
supposing the law forces them
publish ' their proceedings ' in only
the county . site paper. _ m, Ihe
jury recommends the paper or papers
in which their proceedings are to be
published, and they have as much
right to name the Sentinel and ex
clude the Progress, as to name the
Progress and exclude the Bentinkl.
But our object- is not to •exclude the
Progress; it is to include the other
papers of the county, This has
been done by many other grand
juries in Dooly county, and itmakes
the other papers feel a bit badly not
to include them.
Your newspapers gentlemen make
the mouthpiece for good in your
county and community, and Dooly
county is large enough and able
enough to pay every paper in the
county that publishes the present
ments.
Besides, the best and most com -
plete method lo gel the proceedings
before the people and at he same
time give some pay and encourage
ment to the other papers is for the
grand jury to remember all of our
papers by naming a stun to be di
vided among nil t he papers publish
ing the proceedings. Kindly re
member this, gentlemen of the
grand jury, for while it appears a
small matter t o you, it means more
to your papers which depend upon
you to do (hi' right and proper tiling
by them ami at the same, time give
wider publication to your work and
recommendations.
We are informed by Rev. J. W.
Weston that Bishop Wilson, ope

other towns in tins district next
week, and that he will preach here
next Wednesduy night, the 28th.
Bishop Wilson is one of the great
-preachers of the south, and a
treat is in store for our Methodist

Dodge Them
Did you ever try to dodge the
rain-drops ? Did not succeed
very well, did you ? It’s just
as useless to try to escape from
the germs of consumption. You
can’t do it. They are about us
on every hand and we are con
stantly taking them into our
lungs.
Then why don’t we all have
this disease ? Simply because
these germs cannot gain a foot
hold in a strong throat and
lungs. It’s when these are
weak that the germs master.
The body must be well supplied
with fat. The danger comes
when the blood is poor and the
body is thin. If your cough does
not yield, and your throat and
lungs feel raw and sore, you
should not delay another day.

The serious oonsequences to which Scrofula surely leads

portance of wasting no time upon treatment which can
not possibly effect a cure. In many cases where the wrong
treatment haa been relied upon, complicated glandular
swellings dangerous have resulted, for which the doctors insist that
a surgical operation is necessary.
Mr. H. E. Thompson, of Milledgeviile, Ga., writes: “A
bad case of Scrofula broke out on the glands of my neck,
which had to be lanced and oaused me much suffering. I
was treated for a long while, but the physicians were un- .'j
able to cure me, and my condition was as bad as when I
began their treatment. Many blood remedies were used, i
but without effect. Some one recommended S. S. S., and
I began to improve as soon as I had taken a few bottles.
Continuing the remedy, I was soon cured permanently,
and have never had a sign of the disease to return.” Swift's Specific—
