Mr. Mercer Shivers, of Cordele,
is visiting his friend, Mr. George
Callaway. Mr Shivers was raised
in Albany and his parents were
living here when he enlisted in the
army about two years ago. Mr,
Shivers was a member of the 29th.
Infantry and served about eigh
teen months in the Philipines. He
talks interestingly of his army life
in those islands and has entertain
ed numorous groups of his friends
to-day with interesting accounts of
his experiences.—Albany Herald.
Mr. Shivers is now in Cordele with
his parents and his many friends
here, who are glad to have him
with them again.
