Mr. Joe Terrell, of Greenville,
was in town Tuesday.
The election here Wednesday
passed off quietly, There was no
opposition to the dry ticket, The
following officers were elected:
Mayor—J. H. Hogan.
Councilmen—W. 1). Wisdom, L.
C. Averett, J. J. Tucker, J. T. Dun¬
lap and J. A. Allen.
Recorder—Robert O. Bullock.
Here are men that are as dry as a
bone, on liquor, and don’t forget to
pay your ten thousand dollars license.
Owing to the extreme cold weather
but few attended the reading club
Monday night. The club will give
a theatrical entertainment one night
during Christmas. The night will be
decided upon in due time.
Mr. O. D. Hardy left for Atlanta
Tuesday morning to accept a posi¬
tion under Revenue Collector Cren¬
shaw.
