LOCAL NOTES.
Mr. T. D. Fortson, a gentleman
well known and highly esteemed here,
died at his home in Muscogee, last
Wednesday morning. He was a man
who stood high in the community in
which he lived and an admirable cit
lzen every way. The Babtist church,
of whicli he was an exemplary mem¬
ber, will feel his loss, as will a wide
circle of friends and relatives. He
leaves four children, all grown, to
whom we tender our deepest sympa¬
thy in their sore bereavement.
The Butler Herald speaks in the
highest terms of praise of Rev. T.
K. Leonard, who will serve the chur¬
ches on the Cataula circuit another
year. The present year he has been
at Butler.
The college entertainment to-night
is said to have as fine a program as
the one last night, excepting, as a
matter of course, the marriage, and a
certain young man is said to be ma¬
king strenuous efforts to have that
act duplicated.
Willis Threlkeld has a mule that
lie believes was stolen from some¬
body. See his notice in another
