CATAULA GOSSIP.
Cataula is tearfully dull.
Mr. James Ely has returned from
a trip to Montgomery.
Mrs. Lucy Land spent last week
with her aunt, Mrs. H. G. Smith.
Mrs. Win. Greer visited our town
a few days ago the guest of Mrs.
Thomaston.

tation wonderfully. The farmers are
looking more cheerful. Cotton is
coming up fast, but a poor stand of
corn.

Lowe and Mr. C. H. Cook spent
two days in our community on a fish
ing excursion, They were entertain
at night at the residence of Mr. J. H.
Lynch.
Our enterprising friends of the Ca
taula circuit are adding another room
to the parsonage. They erected two
years ago a neat cottage, and with a
little more work on it would be an
ornament to the circuit.
Our esteemed Blue Spring corres¬
pondent, in company with Mr. John
Reid, paid our village a very pleasant
visit last week, guests of Miss Maggie
Ely. Come again, Blue Spring, and
“remember the strings of our latch
hang outside of our doors.”
There has been quite a mania for
fishing this spring. The Mulberry
has been alive by daily fisherman for
over a month. Your correspondent
has had the pleasure of meeting par
ties on the banks .of the creek for
several evenings. It has been ex
ceedingly pleasant “long to be re
membered never to be forgotten.”
The champion fisherman of the
Mulberry tackled a fine eel weighing
several pounds a few days ago and

is the matter ? One young man was
anxious to catch an eel with a ‘y’ on
it. I guess he had better fish on dry

the Saviour gives, “Labor not for the
bread which pensheth, but for that

of his Savior to come up higher.
My old friend, Rheumatism,arrived
a few days ago eager to pay Lis re
spects and embraced my shoulder
with such ardor of affection that he
well nigh tore it from its socket. Not
content with giving me his company
demands my sitting up at night. He
is standing at my back threatening
not to allow me to finish my notes to
the Journal. But enough of him
and his company, Let me leave him
for a more pleasing theme.

A party of citizens in No. 5 went
down on the river last Monday for
the purpose of catching fish and to
have a big fry, staid one day and a
night and never caught as many as
one man could eat one meal. Two
of the party were so disheartened
they went home and left the other on
an island, so there was some swim¬
ming done.

advertised and commenced taking it
and l would have been under the
ground to-day but for coughing it. I have since not
had one bad spell of
that day. In breathing my head ieels
well and I am well. It has done me
a thousand dollars worth of good.
There are ten of my friends on see
ing whatTt has done for me taking it
and it is helping them. I only wish
that every one who has catarrh, astb
ma and a bad cough could see me so
that I could teU them all to take it.
Ah that know me here know how I
have suffered. (I have been here
since 1858,) and say to me “I am so
glad you found something that could
cure you.” Every one says, “how
much better you look.” T he doctors
say they are glad 1 found Hall’s Ca¬

I cannot express my gratitude to
you for the good Hall’s catarrh cure
has done me. You can use as much
