Iladley & Williams’ New Store, The woik on the corner store of Hadley & Williams is nearing completion. It is now receiving a new coat of paint, and already presents a very attractive appear* ance. The enteffprising owners moved their goods into it this week. Found Dead* The infant of Mr and Mrs S R Murphej wan found dead in its cradle this morn¬ ing. It has been feeble for some time, but was thought to be doing well up to yesterday and its death is as surprising as it is sudden. The parents have the sjm pa thy of many friends in their sad be* reavement. Church Festival* The ladies are discussing the propriety of having a festival at an early date for the purpose of raising funds to repair the Methodist church. Nothing definite has yet been decided upon, bnt we are quite sure if they determine to have it it will meet the approval and patronage of oar citizens. We hope they will arrive at a decision in ti ae for ns to notifv the pnb* lie in our next issue. A reception was given the wedding party at the home of the groom at Juni¬ per, Thursday night. Personal Intelligence. Several Hamiltonians had urgent busi¬ ness in Columbus Tuesday and a number went down on the morning train. As it happened to be the day of Sells Brothers’ circus they conld not avoid seeing the attractive street pageant, After witness iog the street parade some found it pos Bible to defer business to a more conve* nient season and went to the show. The train did not leave the city nntil about six o’clock, and all who desired to go had the opportunity. He made a floe impression up on his congregation, and paved the way for a warm reception not only from his own church, but the community in gen* eral. Dr T F Brewster, our honored repre¬ sentative from this county, bas formed such a strong attachment for Atlanta, he has made it his home. He was one of the best oitizens of Harris and his re* moval is a source of nniversal regret. He is one of our most esteemed friends and the Journal wishes him abundant success in his adopted home. Rev W M Hayea, who was expected to meet the officers of the several churches in the Hamilton cironit Monday and preach Monday night was prevented by sickness from keeping his appointment. We will probably have the opportunity to notify the members of the church in time for his next appointment. Our esteemed Catauls correspondent, returned last week from the Piedmont exposition. She enjoyed a delightful trip and we hope our readears will reap some of the fruits of her pleasant va¬ cation in her newsy notes to the Joub* nal Rev I P Cheney has decided to ooeupy the Murphey residence near the Baptist church, instead of the Baptist parsonage, and will move his family here as soon as he can get possession, Mr Murphey con¬ templates moving to the hotel about the first of December. The prohibition contest in Atlanta is watched with much interest. The regis tration books show the largest number of registered -voters in its history. An other victory for prohibition will be a great B victory in morality and reform. !
