Mr. L L. Snow, a Foit Valley
nurseryman, was here Tuesday with
a fine lot of fruit trees. He sold a
number of them.
The Terry lot of land sold here
Tuesday for about $200 less than it
did two years ago. It lies on the
Georgia Midland.
Monday was di—stinktively—gu¬
ano day in Hamilton. Several car
loads of the aromatic agricultural
assistant were hauled off.
The weather came directly from
the north pole the day before yester¬
day, and at this writing it has made
not much stay at the circumlocution
office.
The Alliance demonstration here
on the 31st will bring out many far¬
mers and if only half the Alliance
men in the county turn out there will
be a large gathering.

sewing machines and is for sale at

bus, who also keep buggies.

The comedy company here Tues¬
day night from Greenville is sup
posed to be one of the latest practi¬
cal jokes of Col. Mike DeLacy, of
that city. The Colonel went down
the road yesterday morning. It is
thought he was out looking for a bril¬
liant young tragedian, comedian and
elocutionist.
A grange of the Patrons of Hus
bandry was organized here Tuesday.
Hon. T. H. Kimbrough, Master of
the State Grange, made a public ad¬
dress in the court room. In a very
forcible way he demonstrated the
great necessity for farmers to
bine, as well for mutual protection as
for individual advancement. The
grange is an organization calculated
to promote the funner s best interests^
and the work the order has done

lowed briefly by Judge Hudson and
Mr. Cline, after which the grange

Temperance Convention.
The Woman’s Christian Temper¬
ance Union of the Columbus district
will meet in Hamilton on the 22nd
and 23rd, instant, All the unions
will plea-.e send delegates and all oth¬
ers interested in this good work are
earnestly invited to meet with us.
Wewill have speeches from some of the
best temperance men in the district.
Also essays from the ladies, beside
the regular business. The little peo¬
ple will lend their services to make
the meeting interesting, Will h ,J ve
good music from the Hamilton ladies.
Chipley, Stinson, Talbotton, Green
ville and Columbus. And all other
unions near will please attend.
