the 241I1 of March the following del¬

egates from the other granges in the
count/ for the purpose of organizing
a county grange and arranging for a

j). Little, W. D. Cook, Miss Dora

Mr*. CImpin’* lecture.
The lecture of Mrs. Chapin at the
Methodist church last Saturday eve*
ning was attended by many of our
people and the lecture was an
agreeable surprise to the most san
«3 guine admirer of the gifted speaker.
She spoke as she only can of the
wonderful temperance revival that
is fast spreading ‘over the whole land
and for more than an hour heal her
audience spell bound \>y her elo
(pie nee. Her pathetic incidents
brought tears to the eyes of many
and her sparkling wit excited the
smiles of all. She will ever find a
heiriv welcome in Hamilton.
Another Bird Hunt.
Wednesday morning a number

at Whitesville last Sunday to the

Springs last Sunday. We hope he
will come again.
Jackson’s speech will long be re¬

The farmers are using more guano
than usual, or rather want to but
they car.’t get it.
Up land corn is pretty at this time.
The farmers are getting a good
ways behind with their crops.
Mr. Moncrief is planting cotton.
There was a log rolling in our
setlement last week and three of the
boys made the cook think about
cooking again.
